The challenge with this kitchen was that it was created from a multiplicity of rooms. The trick when we first visited was to imagine the walls down and the area opened up into a large kitchen/family/entertaining space.
The result was truly a room for all seasons – from winter parties to summer barbecues, as French doors lead to a large patio and pool area.
Hand painted on-site by Robinson and Cornish artists, our design included a large overmantel surrounding the cooking range, a walk-in pantry and an integrated Sub Zero fridge freezer.
The capacious island unit includes an overhang at one end with Lloyd Loom stools, so the owners can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and read the paper.
An office corner, with pigeonholes for each family member, pinboard, bookshelves and plenty of filing space was designed for the ‘living’ end of the room.
If you were to buy this kitchen today, it would cost between £95,000 and £105,000 including appliances but excluding building, plumbing and electrical work.
